Surface Piercings
These piercings are the most notorius for rejection and strictly speaking should also include nipples, navels and eyebrows which are dealt with elsewhere. Careful choice of jewellery and placement and good aftercare can help minimise the risk of rejection. We are always happy to advise when you come to the studio. PTFE barbells are a popular option for surface healings as these can move with the skin to minimise the strain it is put under. Don't be put off by the rejection possibility if you really want one of these piercings. You will never know unless you try and you might be one of the lucky ones. Even if your piercing does reject it may take some time and could give you pleasure for a while. That said surface piercings aren't for every one as they do tend to require more care and attention than other piercings.
