project.JPG (15911 bytes)This is a real piercing with a difference! We had been planning this for a while, changing our minds about various options as the lobe stretching progressed. Then when she had reached the desired tube size we had a tube made specifically for the job, drilled though the middle. This took quite a bit of preparation and a lot of careful marking. I wanted to do the piercing in one hit, but it was going to be difficult to line everything up so that I could be sure of hitting the centre of the lobe, both drilled holes and exiting in the base of the conch. However it all paid off because the needle went straight through in one steady movement with no need to pierce each half separately. The barbell dropped easily into the tube and neatly into the piercing.

However there is a small bit of play betweeb the bar and the tunnel and careful soaking and washing seems to be doing the trick. If you have any ideas for ear projects of your own, please do come in and discuss them. I love doing these sort of individual piercings and do not charge extra just because they are more complicated to plan.
