Niobium Jewellery
Brilliantly coloured Niobium rings are a perfect to complement your surgical steel body jewellery. Twelve colours are available including rainbow. The photo does not do them justice. Niobium is one of the 26 elements present in your body naturally and so does not cause any reaction at all. The surface of the jewellery is actually niobium oxide, brought about by anodising. This layer of oxide actually protects the metal underneath and it is the depth of the layer which determines the colour. Over time this layer can sometimes slowly get thicker bringing about a colour change in the jewellery. However this is not common and does take a very long time. For any people worried about possible sensitivity to surgical steel (very, very rare!) this is an excellent alternative. Great in navels, nipples, ears, anywhere really!
